The listed restaurants and food service programs in California are either already carbon neutral* or have pledged to participate beginning in January by adding a voluntary 1% charge. In both cases funds from restaurants are being directed to Restore California, which will pay farmers to implement climate beneficial farming practices as part of shifting toward a renewable food system.

These approaches are designed to engage all restaurants in a broad effort to directly improve the food system and reverse global warming.
